happy birthday, mate!

tomorrow (or today in australia time) is heather's birthday!! heather and i met in france this summer, and she has basically been our 4th roomie the past 2 months. she had some time to kill in between france and india in the spring, so of course she thought, i'll head to dallas for awhile. we've gotten her quite adjusted to Texas. she is in australia/new zealand for a month now!

heather has been a sounding board and a huge encouragement for me this fall. adjusting to the "real world" is not what it's cracked up to be - traffic, "stuff", money (not too much of it when you work at a nonprofit), independence... feeling alone in a huge city, starting over again. heather has an amazing perspective on the world, and lives in humble obedience to the Lord. she has encouraged and challenged me to live simply and in faith that the Lord is in control when I don't understand what he's doing, and that he loves me more than i can imagine.
happy birthday heather!

"The LORD upholds all who are falling and raises up all who are bowed down. The eyes of all look to you, and you give them their food in due season. You open your hand; you satisfy the desire of every living thing. The LORD is righteous in all his ways and kind in all his works. The LORD is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth. He fulfills the desire of those who fear him; he also hears their cry and saves them." psalm 141:15-19
