screwtape letters.

Kimbo and I are reading through the Screwtape Letters, CS Lewis. I tried to read it in high school but just didn't fully get into it. It has been really good to think about spiritual warfare and understand that Satan uses little things to try to manipulate and twist us, very discreetly.

God is always bigger, and He woos and loves us.

Satan tries to tell us that all this physical and tangible "life" that we see is truly life. It is a part of life, but true life is our Spirit and our identity in Christ. God uses the material world to show us obedience and draw us into him, but we hope in the unseen.

Speaking of God, the demon states, "He wants them [us] to learn to walk and must therefore take away His hand; and if only the will to walk is really there He is pleased even with their stumbles."

The thief comes to kill, steal, destroy us. Manipulate and despair us.

God woos us in His love, and gives us the choice and the strength to follow him, and live in His love.
