The verse below and so many others have really been resonating within me lately, and all I can do is just be overwhelmed with the craziness of God's love.
We are here to love. To love and pursue our Maker, and to love and bless the people God loves. We are not here to succeed in the world's eyes. We are not here to be comfortable. We are a tiny tiny tiny part of the the story of God's glory being revealed through all the nations.
It seems like Jesus is saying that the Kingdom of heaven is hidden, that it must be sought out, that it is not mainstream, that it is a narrow path. How incredibly different is that from the popular trendy version of Christianity today that the church is dying from.
Friends, we are all far away from perfect, and from intentionally seeking the Kingdom with every breath. I am reading CrazyLove by Francis Chan, and he uses this analogy.
"If life is a river, then pursuing Christ requires swimming upstream. When we stop swimming, or actively following him, we automatically begin to be swept downstream."
How true is that? How easy is it in our society with a bazillion distractions and pleasures can we easily forget the insane love of our great God?
Keep pursuing. Keep questioning and dreaming and loving. The day we stop is the day we are swept away into the comfort and death of this world. No matter what we are each "doing", God desires our entire lives and being, body and soul. Be encouraged that we serve a God who loves us so much that he reveals His glory to this dying world. Pursue Him alone.
